Great McSweeney's style fiction... super easy to get involved. Written in an interesting voice, where we learn about multiple layers of his?her? officemates' personalities, but learn nothing at all about the narrator. At first it felt light and funny like an episode of The Office but developed into a deeper look into life struggles and human interdependence.
Fire-Hunter has been a favorite book of mine since I read it in fourth grade, and I was delighted to be able to find at least one reprint. Frankly, I could do without the additions by David Drake, but it's fairly simple to skip them and simply enjoy the original story.
This book is an awful dictionary. On the English-Bulgarian side, it translates the words using Cyrillic alphabet, yet doesn't offer the Romanized version, so how are you supposed to know how to pronounce it? What's a Westerner to do?
