Brilliant writer, and fascinating story. He is so quick witted, the moment I finished, I picked it right back up and read it again. I laughed so hard I had tears pouring down the cheeks. I loved this book!
Must say I really enjoyed this one and didn't feel it lacked pace at all - not quite up there with the first few books in the series, but infinitely better than the last three (I found The Killing Place particularly poor). A great return to form, but I wouldn't recommend anyone reading it separately from the rest of the series - you'd miss out on so many references to earlier books. Really liked the Chinatown setting and the references to myths and legends, and found the last quarter particularly gripping.
