** spoiler alert ** I have heard many things about Brave New World, and finally decided that I need to read it. Picked it up two days ago and just finished it about 30 minutes ago (best to review it while your memory is fresh, eh?). I have to say that I was quite satisfied with the novel, except there were a few things that I did find lacking, therefore it did not get the 5 star rating. The main complaint I have is how little knowledge we actually receive. This might have been on purpose by Huxley, but I wasn't a fan of it. The Nine Years War, which is apparently the cause of the new world goes entirely unexplained. It is briefly touched upon by Mond near the end, but not in depth by any means. I would liked to have had some idea how the communistic world began. I would recommend this to anyone who is interested in good literature honestly. It is quite well written, just the right mix of dialog and imagery. I enjoyed this book, and I think that it will appeal to a broad variety of interests.
