I'm hooked on a new series! I really enjoyed this book and the world it created. Set in a dark and gritty alternate reality of Atlanta, it sucked me in from the beginning. It reminds me a lot of Patricia Briggs' Mercy books, and that's a very good thing. Best: -the relationships between Kate and the rest of the people/beings in her world -the world building. It was never info dumped, but revealed as I read. I don't know that I could fully explain it even after having finished the book, but my partial knowledge of it never irked me, as it does in some books. -Kate, oh how I like her! Not dumb. Definitely willing to accept help. -Curran, now this is a character I like! Worst: -lots of characters introduced, and I had a hard time keeping track of them all Overall, I'd recommend it to UF fans. I can't wait to read the next books!

A great story.

Also known as "Everybody Dies, #3", at least I got to find out how the story ends. the teen romance angst was almost too much to bear at times, but I'm a bit numbed to that after the first two volumes. Not a terrible book, but one that I just wanted to get through to see the resolution.

I admit it's been very difficult for me to get "into" this book, most likely because I'd been reading a chapter before bed each night. When each chapter is 2-4 pages it's hard to get a feel for the narrative flow; my reading style was enhancing the detached hesitance of the novel itself. I've just reached the meatier flowing bits. More to come when I decide if I can get over the narrator's voice; I think he feels nothing for those around him--everyone appears more an intellectual problem than person (I've dated people like that) so neither do I. I really enjoyed this from about 2/3rds in to the end, but now that it's been 3 years since I finished it I have nothing clever to say.

Actually would rate this 4.25-4.50. Read the first 25% with no idea what was going on. Almost gave up so glad I stayed with it. Great story, loved how it all wrapped up in the end
