The book I’m reading is Palace of Mirrors by Margaret Peterson Haddix. It is about Princess Cecilia who is hidden in a village because enemies who killed her parents are still on the hunt for her. To throw them off they placed a decoy princess in the castle. Cecilia knows she is a princess and she wonders all the time when she can finally where her crown and where her silk dresses and sit on her throne. Cecilia begins to feel someone knows her location so her best friend, Harper, convinces her to go together to the capital so she can claim her throne and release the decoy from her duties. I think her nanny is going to cause a problem for her to get to the capital. Cecilia and Harper reach the capital and Desmia waving to the crowd and how everyone loved her. Cecilia begins to question if the people of her kingdom will ever love her the way they love Desmia. While Harper and Cecilia are at the capital they try to think of ways they could see Desmia since the guards won’t let them in because of the way they dress and how they look since they have been traveling four days straight. That’s as much as I read so far but I am still reading. Harper is right if they can keep the decoy, Desmia, safe then they can keep Cecilia safe. I wonder how Cecilia is going to get her throne back if she has no proof that she is actually the princess. She has her tutor Sir Stephen who teaches her how to be a princess and how to be royalty.

This book is what I feel like sometimes. A must read and not just for school. Re-read it as an adult.
